Starlink Updates: What Customers Need to Know
Starlink has announced several changes to its residential internet plans and equipment pricing. If you're considering Starlink or are already a customer, here's a simple breakdown of what has changed.
New Monthly Equipment Rental Fee
Starlink is moving to a new equipment rental model for its standard residential internet service. Instead of purchasing the residential equipment outright, customers will now pay a $10 per month equipment rental fee.
This change applies to residential service plans. Customers who choose a Roam plan will still purchase their equipment as before.
For many households, this may help reduce the upfront cost of getting started with Starlink.
Free Mini Kit Offer Has Ended
Starlink has also ended the popular Free Mini Kit Offer that was previously available with the Residential Max plan.
In addition, the 50% discount on Roam plans that was offered alongside the Residential Max plan is no longer available.
Customers who are considering Starlink should be aware that these promotions have officially ended and are no longer included with new Residential Max orders.
Installation Pricing Made Simpler
Starlink has simplified its installation pricing structure.
Residential customers can now expect the following:
- Residential 100 Mbps Plan: $199 Installation
- Residential 200 Mbps Plan: $199 Installation
- Residential Max Plan: Free Installation
This new pricing makes it easier for customers to understand their costs before ordering.
What This Means for You
While some promotional offers have ended, Starlink continues to provide fast, reliable internet service in areas where cable, fiber, and DSL may not be available or may not perform well.
The new equipment rental option may help lower the initial cost of getting connected, while the simplified installation pricing makes it easier to compare plans.
If you live in a rural area, have limited internet choices, or are tired of slow internet speeds, Starlink remains one of the most exciting internet options available today.
